Meet the newest member of Pivot Point Equine & Rider Rehab. Destri comes to us from Owasso, Oklahoma and is helping us reach more riders and their horses.
Destri is an Athletic Trainer that grew up in Broken Bow, Nebraska, ranching, rodeoing, and showing horses in 4-H. Destri grew up riding and training horses from his family’s breeding program along with competing on them in the Nebraska High School Rodeo Association.
After losing his calf horse to a catastrophic injury in high school, and sustaining multiple injuries and surgeries throughout his rodeo career, he made it his mission to help equine athletes and their riders prevent injury and compete at their best.
He attended Northwestern Oklahoma State in Alva, OK where he studied health and sports science, and college rodeoed for 4 years. Then, he continued to pursue a career in sports medicine, receiving his Masters in Athletic Training from the University of Central Oklahoma.
His first job was at Great Plains Health in North Platte, Nebraska, where he covered sports teams primarily at North Platte High School and also high school, college, and professional rodeos. He and his wife Jordan moved to Oklahoma after he was offered a job at a 6A high school in Owasso, OK. He continues to rope and train horses while providing sports medicine services and performance programs for teams at Owasso and the surrounding area.
Destri is passionate about applying his knowledge and skills to high level horse people and their mounts, so they can achieve the next level of performance.
Stay tuned for more collaborative efforts between Destri and Becky, as they bring their years of experience with two and four legged athletes.
